KUD Branko Marković
U malom mestu na sremskoj obali Dunava, Surduk, 1995. godine osnovano je KUD SURDUK. Grupa roditelja imala je želju da svojoj deci pruži nešto više, ne sluteći da će jedna mala vojvođanska seoska sredina postati izvor prave folklorne umetnosti.
Sve do 2001. godine u KUD-u „Surduk“ negovalo se pretežno izvorno
folklorno stvaralaštvo. Medjutim, prolazeci kroz neše krajeve, sin
cuvenog maestra Branka Markovica, gospodin Vojin-Kica Markovic, prepoznao je kvalitet ansambla i podario mu ime svoga oca. Od te 2001. godine KUD „Branko Markovic“
– Surduk sa ponosom nosi ime velikog umetnika. Škola folklora koju je
Branko Markovic stvorio živi sve do danas, njegov fizicki odlazak nije
znacio i rastanak od njegovih umetnickih ideja. Pored igrackih ansambala
„Kremanovica“ i „Španca“, koji su imali cast da rade sa maestrom, KUD
„Branko Markovic“ – Surduk nastavlja da neguje Markovicevo stvaralaštvo
sa njegovim sledbenicima i najbližim saradnicima, gospodinom Brankom
Puricem sve do 2008. godine.
Pored mnogih nagrada i priznanja u zemlji KUD iz Surduka je i nosilac mnogih priznanja sa gostovanja u Bosni, Bugarskoj, Turskoj, Poljskoj, Španiji, Portugaliji, Italiji (Sicilija), Grckoj i dr. Ono cime se posebno hvalimo jeste veliki koncert u Dvorani Doma Sindikara aprila 2003. godine; plasmanom u finale takmicenja na 42. nagradnom festivalu ansambala narodnih igara „Amateri svome gradu“ u Beogradu aprila 2002. godine; serijom veoma uspešnih koncerata narodnog orkestra KUD-a „Branko Markovic“ kao i izdavanju njihovog prvog kompakt diska.

Dakle KUD broji oko 80 clanova igrackog tela, 10-15 clanova narodnog orkestra i bezbroj prijatelja i saradnika...
SEKCIJE KUD-a:
- I folklorni ansambl (redovne probe ponedeljkom i sredom od 21 cas)
- II folklorni ansambl (redovne probe ponedeljkom i sredom od 20 casova)
- III folklorni ansambl (redovne probe ponedeljkom i sredom od 19 casova)
- Orkestar (šef Orkestra dr Grujica Milojevic).
Predsednik KUD „Branko Markovic“ je gospodin Petar
Dronjak; od 2008. godine ansambl je pod rukovodstvom gospodina Marinka
Popovica, jednog od najbližih saradnika maestra Branka Markovica;
orkestrom rukovodi dr Grujica Milojevic, a umetnicki direktor narodnog
orkestra je gospodin Dušan Šaponja, koji je autor svih muzickih
aranžmana Markovicevih koreografija, inace obojica veliki prijatelji i
saradnici pokojnog maestra.
Branko Markovic i dalje živi kroz nas, njegovo delo je
iz dana u dan sve vece. Na žalost, ima dosta onih koji njegovu umetnost
nerazumeju u potpunosti, ali borimo se, i boricemo se da istrajemo u
tome; da pokažemo i dokažemo velicinu onoga što je on stvorio i
negovacemo školu stilizovanog folklora...
